DECEMBER MERIDIAN - STOMACH

The Meridian for this Month is the Stomach. It runs on from the Large Intestine Meridian in a complicated pattern around the face and mouth, a branch descending internally through the diaphragm to the stomach and spleen. Another branch descends over the surface of the neck, chest and abdomen to the groin where the meridian reconnects with the continuation of internal branch from the stomach. It runs from here down the leg to the top of the foot, terminating at the tip of the second toe.
I love the dramatic descriptions of Stomach Meridian disturbance: eg the patient may like to "climb hills, sing a lot, or strip and run about naked". I'll know what's up with that type now...

REMOTE GROUP SESSION 14th NOV 2019 - LARGE INTESTINE TWO

The session we just had on the Thursday 7th November felt so powerful to host that I'm going to stay with the same focus for the next one:

SESSION 14th NOVEMBER: LARGE INTESTINE MERIDIAN - VAGUS NERVES - CRANIOSACRAL SYSTEM - LARGE INTESTINE MOBILITY AND MOTILITY

Which might seem like a lot of different levels, but that seemed to be part of the message, that it's good to focus into several levels, they're all just different ways of observing the same thing, our amazing, multi-connected, physical and non-physical human life form. Work going on with one aspect is mirrored in all others.

MERIDIAN OF THE MONTH - LARGE INTESTINE

The meridian for this month's exploration of the "web that has no weaver", is the Large Intestine, so I'll be focusing into this channel during our remote group session on 7th November.
The Large Intestine Meridian runs from the tip of the index finger up the arm to the shoulder where it splits into two branches. The first runs down inside the body through the lung and diaphragm to the large intestine itself. The second branch runs up the neck, through the cheek to the lower teeth and gum, and around the upper lip to the side of the nose.

REMOTE GROUP SESSION 24TH OCTOBER - SCIATICA TWO

We focused on Sciatica in last Thursday's remote group session and it's such a common problem that I'm going to stay with it for this next one on the 24th October - more about the remote group and how to join in here.
Sciatica, and lower back pain, has always been one of the chief reasons people seek out help from complementary therapists like me. I've always encouraged patients to research as much as they can themselves and to look at all aspects of their own health care, from diet and exercise, such as stretching and Pilates, along with getting regular holistic treatment. I often find that when patients' sciatica or back pain has eased they continue to come for CranioSacral Therapy as it can have such a positive effect on their health generally. So here's a bit more detail:
It's the largest nerve in our bodies, as thick as your thumb

The roots of the sciatic nerve fanning out from the lower spinal levels.
Some of the various disc and vertebral problems which can cause nerve compression.

The joints between the vertebrae themselves are often overlooked and can cause problems too.

One of the chief sciatic rascals, the piriformis muscle - easy to see how tension/spasm here can be pressing on that nerve. The good news is that tension here can often be easily treated and giving relief to pain.
Then there's often an emotional component to this, or any other, concern. Money worries and support issues often hide away down here. The CranioSacral approach can help people to explore this and learn wonderfully helpful life lessons by listening to our bodies' inner wisdom.
Have a great session if you're tuning in!
Stretch for the piriformis muscle here.
Pelvic tilt for lower back here.

MERIDIAN OF THE MONTH - LUNG

"THE DELICATE INTEGRITY OF THE TEMPORAL WORLD"
My main reference book for our meridian journey is the excellent, "The Web that has no Weaver," by Ted J. Kaptchuk. There's some great notes on the lung meridian and the lungs as organs, and all their associations, eg "the Lungs concern the momentary and the ephemeral. Healthy Lungs allow for a single moment or any singular episode of time to become complete".
The Lung Meridian runs from deep within the body cavity to the Large Intestine, rising to the Lungs and emerging to the surface via the throat. It continues down the arm to the thumb, a branch running down the index finger to connect with the Large Intestine Meridian.

REMOTE SESSION THURSDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2019 - YOUR AMAZING LIVER

The meridian for this month is the Liver Meridian though I'm going to keep the focus open to all functions of liver, and its connections with other systems.

YOUR AMAZING LIVER - MALE OR FEMALE?
When I'm treating patients in the hands-on, present way I sometimes ask them to focus their attention inwards to see if there's any body wisdom that wants to come up to the surface, and livers can be very responsive. I often ask them if they see their livers are male or female, to start the ball rolling.

REMOTE GROUP SESSION 8TH AUGUST - THE SHIFT TO A GLOBAL AWARENESS

I was reading an article about a new book by James Lovelock, of Gaia Theory fame, "Novacene", it's an interesting read, eg:
"Novacene picks up from that note of hope, and showcases another big idea. Gaia might, after all, be saved — by the singularity. This artificial-intelligence takeover, which so alarms many doomsayers, will be our redemption. Lovelock argues that increasingly self-engineering cyborgs with massive intellectual prowess and a telepathically shared consciousness will recognize that they, like organisms, are prey to climate change. They will understand that the planetary thermostat, the control system, is Gaia herself; and, in tandem with her, they will save the sum of remaining living tissue and themselves. The planet will enter the Novacene epoch: Lovelock’s coinage for the successor to the informally named Anthropocene."
I feel that we are on the verge of a shift in consciousness and intelligence and I hope that a global understanding of the accelerating climate catastrophe will help us to find a way back from the brink of mass extinction. I don't feel that a superior machine intelligence will be a part of it in the same way though, I feel that linking our awareness in remote group sessions like these helps to take us into the new realms that are just within our grasp. Lovelock argues that human thinking is too slow but I'd say that when we shift into global awareness we enter a different kind of enfolded Space and Time where thoughts move instantaneously.

There's a huge resistance to change amongst the vested interests and reptilian politics so monstrously personified by the Great Orange Arsehole in the Shitehouse, but they are few and we are many, and we can and must rise above our inner reptile.
